Church Vocalist / Musician Job Description

Image
I have recently re-written a variety of job descriptions for those who volunteer in teams within church for which I am responsible. There were some areas in some teams that needed clarification. There were also a few things that needed updating based upon a few of the changes that have recently taken place within our ministry structure and the way in which we do things. I started off by stating our church's main vision and mission statement. Then I explained the leadership structure within the church and highlighted who was in charge of that particular team. Below is the job description that I have put together for the vocalists and musicians who serve at my church. feel free to use what is useful to your church setting as well as ignoring what is not. It would also be great to hear from you if you have found it useful as well as if you have any other points that would be useful to add (use the comments section below). Song List and Comments by Hugh Osgood

Hugh Osgood visits The King's Church, Wisbech On Sunday 15th September 2013, Hugh Osgood visited our church in Wisbech. It was a fantastic time of fellowship, friendship and ministry. He gave great encouragement to the church as well as to me personally. I was leading the sung element of our worship that day and had no idea which songs to select as I had no idea what Hugh was going to be preaching about. So I prayed about it and as usual, God stepped in and it was brilliant! Hugh even made some comments and a joke about the songs chosen before he started preaching ( watch the first 2 minutes of the video here to see for yourself). He was complimentary about how there was a good balance of old and new songs, as well as the sensitivity with which they were lead. So what did we sing? Check out the list . . .
